
Simple Pancake Recipe
Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day, is the perfect excuse to whip up a batch of delicious, golden pancakes!
Whether you enjoy them classic with lemon and sugar or piled high with your favourite toppings, these pancakes are sure to be a hit.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Servings: Makes 6-8 pancakes (serves 2-3)
Ingredients:
- 125g all-purpose flour
- 240ml milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for sweetness)
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp melted butter or vegetable oil (plus extra for cooking)
- Your favourite toppings (lemon juice, sugar, maple syrup, fresh berries, etc.)
Instructions:

Prepare the Batter:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar (if using), and salt. In another bowl, beat the eggs and milk together. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth. Stir in the melted butter or oil. -
Rest the Batter:
Let the batter rest for about 10-15 minutes to help improve texture. -
Cook the Pancakes:
Heat a frying pan over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into the pan, swirling to spread evenly. -
Flip and Cook:
Cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges look set. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter. -
Serve:
Serve warm with your favourite toppings, such as lemon juice and sugar or maple syrup and fresh berries.
