Homemade Bread Recipe
Now you've got your trusty Terracotta Bread Baker, it's time to become a bread baking connoisseur with this simple Homemade Bread recipe - perfect for a medium sized loaf!
Made of pottery clay, this terracotta vessel perfectly replicates a traditional brick bread oven so you can create an authentic, crispy loaf time after time.
Dexam Essentials:

Ingredients:
- 500g Bread Flour or Plain Flour
- 2 tsp Salt
- 2 ¼ tsp Instant Yeast
- 300ml Warm Water
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil or Melted Butter (optional)
Instructions:
- Mix the ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and yeast. Add the warm water and olive oil (if using). Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5-7 minutes.
- First rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise at room temperature for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Second rise: Shape your dough and place it into the bread baker, cover, and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes until it puffs up.
- Bake the bread: When ready, pop the lid on and place the baker in the middle of a cold oven. Allow it to reach 200°C/400°F/Gas Mark 6 and bake for 30 minutes. (For an extra crispy crust, remove the lid for the last 10 minutes of the bake).
- Cool and enjoy: Remove from the oven and let the loaf cool before removing from the baker.
