The Pampered Goose

Ever stopped to wonder what the Chairman of Dexam enjoyed too drink?

Here is one simple, refreshing and enjoyable cocktail that is sure to get the party going.

The Pampered Goose
PREP TIME 2 minutes MAKES 2 glasses
  • 8 parts Red grapefruit juice
  • 6 parts Gin
  • 2 parts Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 1 part Crème de Fraise
  • A dash of Grenadine
  • 17 parts of chilled prosecco
  • Chilled cocktail glasses
  • Cubed ice
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Fresh strawberries

Preparation method

  1. Start by chilling your cocktail glasses. You can do this by filling them with ice cubes.
  2. With your GrooveTech knives cut the grapefruit in half. With a juicer, ideally the Chef’n Juicester Jr, squeeze the grapefruit to create the red grapefruit juice.
  3. Use a shot measuring jigger to measure out the ingredients into your cocktail shaker, adding the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. Do not worry if your measurements are slightly out, as a bit of tolerance is essential in cocktail making.
  4. When pouring in the Crème de Fraise, if you do not have any available, you can instead use sugar syrup or some honey to create the sweet tones needed to match the grapefruits sharpness. The Grenadine is also a sweet sugary drink that will reduce the grapefruits bitterness, but make sure to only use a dash, as it is incredibly strong.
  5. For those who are beginners in cocktail making, if you find that you have added to much grenadine, you can remedy this fault by squeezing some fresh lemon juice into the mix.
  6. With the mix all in the cocktail shaker, add a handful of ice cubes into the shaker and with the lid firmly on, shake the mix for a minute or two. You will know when the mix has been properly shaken, as the whole of the outside of the cocktail shaker will be completely cold.
  7. Remove the ice cubes from the cocktail glass which should now be nice and cool.
  8. Place a strainer over the cocktail shaker and pour the shaken mixture half way into the cool cocktail glass, filling the other half of the glass with prosecco.
  9. Slice some strawberries and stick them onto the end of a cocktail stick before placing into the glass as decoration.
