Purchasing Executive

Part time (Mon-Fri): 9.00 to 14.00 (flexibility can be discussed)

We are lucky enough to work in an industry which revolves around the heart of any home, the kitchen, and we love what we do. Due to retirement, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Executive to come and join our friendly team. Dexam’s offices and warehouse are based in Midhurst, West Sussex, the role is part time and permanent (we can be flexible on location as long as around 2-3 days per week are spent in Midhurst).

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will support all business inventory requirements for 1200 live SKUs and will working closely with the sales team, product manager and warehouse staff.

The duties will include:

• Interrogation of our integrated system to continually review stock levels

• Issuing purchase orders to suppliers based in UK, Europe, US and Far East

• A strong understanding of lead times and shipping processes

• A proactive approach to continual progress chasing of all purchase orders

• Setting up products and new suppliers

• Packaging waste reporting • Maintenance of Supplier Handbook

• Reviewing freight agent tracking systems and checking on all consignments

• Continual review of freight rates

• Liaising with the Warehouse Manager to optimise stock arrivals

• Checking all goods received values and quantities and raising queries with suppliers

• Product oncost % reviews and maintenance

• Freight invoice processing and checking

• Working closely with the Finance Manager on stock and freight invoice processing

• An understanding of duty rates, commodity codes and customs clearance on imports.

• Monitoring supplier pricing The Purchasing Executive must have:

• Very clear verbal and written communication skills

• Accuracy with strong attention to detail

• Logistic/import knowledge

• Experience in forecasting and general purchasing processes

• Ability to liaise with multiple departments

• A high level of numerical skill

• The ability to multi-task and prioritise workload

• Experience of working in multiple currencies

You don’t necessarily need a relevant qualification as previous experience would also be beneficial but you must be able to demonstrate strong time-management skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure always with attention to detail. A good knowledge of Excel is a prerequisite. Full training will be given on our ERP system although knowledge of IntactIQ would be excellent.
