Homemade Mango Jam

Sweet and freshening, start the morning on the right foot and serve this scrumptious mango jam alongside your favourite natural yogurt.

Homemade Mango Jam

  • Ingredients:
  • 1kg of ripe mango
  • 300g of sugar
  • 180ml of water

Preparation method

  1. Start by placing the whole mangoes in boiling water or until they have turned soft. Once soft, remove the mangoes from the water before peeling and stoning.
  2. In a large mixing bowl and using either a fork or potato masher, mash the mango until it has turned to pulp.
  3. Using a large saucepan, add the water and sugar and place onto a low heat and stir until the mixture reaches the boil. When boiling, increase the temperature to a medium heat.
  4. Once a soft thread forms, stir in the mango pulp and boil until the mixture thickens which should take around 5 minutes.
  5. Once the mixture has thickened, pour the jam into pre-sterilised jars and seal.
