Whether it be blackberries, damsons, strawberries or apples, foraged forest fruit crumble served with custard is always a traditional favourite

For Crumble:
120g plain flour
60g caster sugar
60g butter, cubed at room temperature
Extra butter for greasing pan
For Fruit Mix:
450g of prepared fruit ideally in season
30g unsalted butter
30g demerara sugar
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Preparation method
Pre-heat ove to 180°C/350F/Gas .
Place the flour and sugar in a large bowl and mix well. Taking a few spoons of butter at a time rub into the flour mixture. Keep mixing until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Add fruit to large mixing bowl and sprinkle with sugar, flour and a pinch of cinnamon.
Grease a rectangular pan (cast iron rectangular dish perfect for this)
Add the foraged fruit mixture to the dish
Bake in oven for approximately 12-15 minutes, until the crumble mix is bubbling
Allow to stand for 5 minutes and serve with homemade custard.
