It’s early Christmas and at Dexam we are getting into the festive spirit.
While we spend our evenings preparing for what we wish to be the best Christmas ever, you can be confident that we will have a glass of warm mulled wine in front of us.

750ml of red wine
1 large cinnamon stick
2 anise stars
4 cloves
2 strips of lemon zest
4 tablespoons of caster sugar
Preparation method
In a large pan place the red wine, cinnamon, anise stars, cloves, sugar and lemon zest.
Cook on a low heat for 10 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and allow to cool for 30 minutes.
When serving, heat the pan on a medium heat without letting it boil before pouring into mugs to serve.
For those wanting to add an extra kick in their mulled wine, add 100ml of gin to the mulled wine when you are heating the mixture up to serve.
