PREP TIME 25 minutesCOOK TIME 1 hour 40 minutesMAKES 6 servings
Ingredients
1 ham bone
2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
6 green sliced onions
3 celery stalks, chopped
45g of fresh parsley
170g of chopped cabbage
2 carrots, diced
3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
120g of cream
Ground nutmeg
Preparation method
In a large saucepan, fill it 3/4 full of water and add the ham bone. Reduce the heat and leave the pan to simmer for an hour or until the meat begins to fall off the bone.
When the meat begins to fall off the bone, remove the ham bone and remove the meat from the bone, cutting it before returning the meat into the pan, adding the potatoes, onions, celery, parsley, cabbage and carrots and leaving it to cook for 40 minutes.
In a small bowl, add the flour and 60ml of water, mixing together before pouring into the large saucepan. Stir the soup occasionally before bringing the pan to the boil and cooking for a further 2 minutes.
Reduce the heat, stirring in the cream before removing from the heat and garnishing with nutmeg to serve.
