Chinese New Year is often referred to as the Spring Festival or the Lunar New Year and coincides with the new moon. Taking place anytime between the 21st January to the 20th February, the ancient tradition of Chinese New Year was originally a ceremonial day, a day to pray to the gods for a good harvest and fighting off evil spirits.
This year’s Chinese New Year falls on the 5th February and marks the beginning of the Year of the Pig. Those fortunate enough to be born under the animal zodiac sign of the pig are blessed with good fortune and a bubbling personality.
