Dexam raises over £12,000 for people living with cancer

Midhurst based Dexam International Ltd is celebrating a year long promotion with leading cancer charity Macmillan Cancer Support that has raised £12,470 so far to help fund vital support service for people living with cancer.  The promotion which ran from September 2016 and will continue into 2018 has seen the company make a donation for every Dexam Spiraliser sold in the UK.

Dexam were keen to partner with Macmillan as cancer is something that affects the lives of  many of their customers and employees and they felt compelled to use their customer reach to make a difference. Roger Morgan-Grenville, Director of Dexam said: “We are delighted to have partnered with Macmillan through the promotion and raised funds to help people who are facing this disease.  Cancer affects so many of us nowadays and it is a great way of raising not only vital funds but also awareness about the support that Macmillan can provide. This is also a great demonstration of how a company and its staff can support its local community’’

The Midhurst based company are well aware of the local support that Macmillan can give to cancer patients and their family with the Midhurst Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care Service, provided by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Macmillan on their doorstep.  The service which only recently celebrated their 10th anniversary has supported thousands of local individuals and their families with its holistic approach focusing on hands-on care. One of the key aims of the Midhurst service is to offer people a real choice for their treatment and end of life care with many choosing to be supported at home

Helene Poursain, Area Fundraising Manager for the South East said “We would like to say a huge thank you to Dexam International Ltd for agreeing to work with us in such a way and to the thousands of their customers who purchased spirialisers. The amount raised is enough to fund a Macmillan nurse for nearly 3 months, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support. With 99% of our money coming from voluntary donations, we are so grateful for the support that Dexam International Ltd has given us.”
