Apple Dipped Chocolate and Nuts

A great way to get kids to eat fruit.

Apple dipped Chocolate and Nuts

  • 2 to 3 Cox or Granny Smith apples
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • wooden skewers
  • 350g milk or dark chocolate
  • 125g chopped nuts eg. hazlenuts or peanuts

Preparation method

  1. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or in a bowl over boiling water.
  2. Line a plate with baking parchment.
  3. Slice the apples into thick slices and dip them briefly in lemon to stop them going brown. Dip the apple slices one at a time into the chocolate, to coat them evenly with chocolate at least three-quarters of the way up each apple slice. Let the excess chocolate drip off.
  4. Press each slice into the nuts and put the slices on the parchment. Place in the fridge or somewhere cool until the chocolate hardens
