  • 2 rectangles of puff pastry
  • 2 large apples
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
  • 6 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Icing sugar

Preparation method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C before lining two baking trays with baking paper.
  2. Take your two apples, peeling, coring and chopping them into small cubes. Mix the apple cubes with the lemon juice.
  3. Using a small mixing bowl add the sugar and the cinnamon.
  4. Using a small saucepan on a medium heat, melt the butter.
  5. Take your shop brought puff pastry and on a lightly dusted worktop, roll the pastry. Brush the pastry with half the butter and sprinkle with half the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  6. Take the apple cubes before sprinkling over the pastry. Cover the pastry with the second pastry rectangle before brushing with the remaining butter and sprinkling with cinnamon mixture.
  7. Take the pastry and roll from the long side. Use a sharp knife and cut the roll into 3cm pieces, before placing them onto the prepared baking sheets while leaving space between each one. Leave to bake for around 20- 25 minutes or until they have turned golden and crispy.
  8. Remove from oven and leave to cool before serving.
